If you are using Apple Pay, Google Pay, a credit card or PayPal as your payment method, you do not need to use the Donkey Wallet to rent a bike. However with these payment methods you cannot use the wallet for membership payments and other fees.
If you are using Bancontact, iDeal, Sofort or Klarna you will need to use the Donkey Wallet in order to be able to rent bikes. You will always need to keep a bit extra in the wallet on top of the current rental fee, the app will tell you how much exactly. If your wallet is running low on funds during a rental, the app will ask you to top up, to be able to continue your ride.
The wallet is a great feature that allows you to add credit into your Donkey Wallet for immediate or future use. For certain top-ups, we will add additional credits for you to get more bang for your buck.
One of the many advantages of your Donkey wallet is that you don’t need to worry about making a payment for every ride.
If at any point you want your wallet funds to be reimbursed, you can do this in the app, inside the wallet tab.
