How to delete your account
You can delete your account at any time. This action is permanent and will remove your ride history, payment methods, and personal data.
📲 Option 1: Self-Service (In-App)
The fastest way to close your account is directly through the app:
Tap on your Profile/Account icon.
Scroll to the bottom and select "Delete Account."
Follow the prompts to confirm your decision.
đź“§ Option 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the app or the "Delete" button is not visible:
Send an Email: Contact support@donkeyrepublic.com.
Requirement: You must send this request from the email address associated with your account.
Reason: This verifies your identity and ensures compliance with GDPR and privacy regulations. You will receive a confirmation email once the process is complete.
⚠️ Why can’t I delete my account?
You will be unable to delete your account if any of the following are active:
Ongoing Rentals: You must end all active trips first.
Outstanding Payments: Any unpaid invoices or pending membership fees must be settled.
Missing Bikes: If a bike you recently used is not yet accounted for or locked at a hub, the account must remain open for liability purposes.
Pending Penalties: Relocation fees or fines must be paid in full.
