Do I need theft insurance?

We would always advise to include theft insurance, especially for longer overnight rentals.
The safety of your bike is your liability during (and in some cases after) your rental.
Theft insurance can only be added during the booking process. Once a booking is made, theft insurance can no longer be added. If you rent a bike via a local membership, theft insurance is already included.
When you add theft insurance to your rental, you minimize your liability in case a Donkey bike disappears during your rental.
If the bike is missing for more than 30 days, we'll charge the below fees from your payment method, in order to compensate us.
Lost bike fee without insurance:
Mechanical bike: Up to 900 EUR / vehicle
E-bike: Up to 2,000 EUR / vehicle
Cargo bike: Up to 2,000 EUR / vehicle
E-Cargo bike: Up to 4,000 EUR / vehicle
Lost bike fee with insurance:
Mechanical bike: Up to 50 EUR / vehicle
E-bike: Up to 100 EUR / vehicle
Cargo bike: Up to 100 EUR / vehicle
E-Cargo bike: Up to 200 EUR / vehicle
Insurance doesn't cover damage you inflict on the bike, harm to yourself or a 3rd party.
