What happens if I end my rental outside a drop-off location?
Ending a rental outside a designated drop-off location may result in relocation fees or fines. Our system uses these fees to cover the cost of mechanics moving misplaced bikes.
Additionally, the app provides warnings if you attempt to end a rental outside a valid drop-off zone. Dismissing these warnings confirms your acceptance of the risk of a penalty.
💰 Fees and Penalties
The "Double-Rent" Penalty: Even if you end a rental outside a drop-off point and then rent the same bike again later, the initial penalty for the incorrect drop-off still applies.
Prohibited Areas: In some cities (like Amsterdam), local regulations may prevent you from re-renting a bike that has been left in a misplaced location.
Relocation Fees: Relocation fees are non-refundable even if the bike is later moved to a valid location.
💡 How to Avoid Extra Charges
Check the App: The app will always show you the nearest drop-off location and warn you if your current spot will trigger a fee.
Keep it Rented: If you plan to use the bike again soon, do not end the rental. Simply lock the bike your session.
End at a Hub: To avoid all fees, only select "End Rental" when the bike is parked at an official drop-off location. Ride with Care: Misplaced bikes block sidewalks and create accessibility issues for local residents. Please help us keep your city tidy by parking in designated hubs!
Plan Ahead: Before starting your ride, identify nearby drop-off zones to avoid last-minute issues.
Ensure the Rental is Fully Ended: Always complete the end rental process in the app at an approved drop-off location. If the process is incomplete, the ride remains active, and additional charges may accrue.
