š« How to fix 403 errors in the Donkey Republic app
A 403 error can show up when you create an account, verify your phone number or use the app. It usually means there's a problem with your network, verification or app permissions. Below are the most common causes and how to fix them.
ā
š Common causes
Network issues: your network blocks secure ports, or your IP address has been flagged.
Verification problems: something went wrong with phone number verification, or ReCaptcha failed.
Permission settings: the app is missing a permission it needs, such as Bluetooth.
š ļø Try these steps first
Switch your network connection
Use mobile data instead of Wi-Fi or a hotspot. Some networks block secure ports.
Turn off any VPN. Masked IP addresses may be blocked.
Update the app
Make sure you have the latest version of the Donkey Republic app. If you're not sure, delete the app and reinstall it from your app store.
Check your permissions
Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and make sure the app has Bluetooth permission.
On iOS, the app asks for permissions again after you reinstall it.
š¤ Error when creating an account
Turn off Wi-Fi and use mobile data while you register.
Still seeing the error? Create the account on another device, then sign in on your phone with your new details.
š± Error during phone verification
Make sure the phone number you enter can receive SMS. Data-only eSIMs that don't support SMS can't be used.
If you get a 403 error while verifying:
Turn off your VPN and switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
āļø Didn't receive a verification code?
Check that your phone number has been added to your account correctly.
Finish onboarding by choosing a payment method in the app.
š Password or registration issues
If you signed up with Apple or Google, use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google.
If you registered with email, make sure you're using the right email address. Reset your password if you need to.
š” Good to know
Avoid making lots of verification attempts in a short time. This can lead to a temporary block.
If the problem continues, contact support and we'll help you further.
