How do I add co-riders to a group rental?
You can rent multiple bikes and share digital keys with your friends. This allows each person to lock and unlock their own bike using their own phone.
1. Requirements for Co-Riders
To use this feature, every co-rider must meet the following criteria:
App Installed: Must have the Donkey Republic app on their smartphone.
Connectivity: Must have an active internet connection and Bluetooth enabled.
Account: Must have a valid phone number linked to their app profile.
2. How to Invite Co-Riders
⚠️ Important: Co-riders can only be added during the initial booking process. You cannot add or change co-riders once the rental has started.
Enter Emails: During the booking flow, enter the email addresses of your companions.
Accept Invitation: Your friends will receive an automated email invitation.
Link the Rental: They must follow the link in that email to sync the rental to their own Donkey Republic app.
Ride Independently: Once linked, co-riders can lock and unlock their specific bike without the primary renter being present.
3. Troubleshooting Group Rentals
Can I add a friend later? No. All co-riders must be invited before you finalize the "Rent Now" step.
What if the email doesn't arrive? Ask the co-rider to check their spam folder or ensure the email address entered matches their app login email.
